Disrupt - Day 4
March 4 - The nations’ idols have ears but cannot hear. (Psalm 115:6)
Our God is alive! He has ears that hear. Every other false god and worshipped idol is as deaf as a doorknob. Whether it’s the statues I’ve seen in Nepal or the New York Stock Exchange, anything other than God that we look to for provision, security, and purpose is an idol. But God is a jealous God who shares His glory with no other. Thus, when we pray, we pray exclusively to the one true God; the One who inclines His ear to the prayers of His people.
Prayer Prompt: God, I am praying to you because I believe wholeheartedly you are the only God; the one true God, and there is no one like you. Your Word tells me that you hear unlike all the false gods of the world. Thank you for being alive and hearing my prayers.
“The sin of idolatry is not merely worshiping false gods; it is trusting them.” -RC Sproul
