Disrupt - Day 26
March 26 Our good Father gives good gifts, not a stone or snake. (Matthew 7:9-11)
Throughout our Disrupt series, I’ve revisited this verse again and again because my frail heart struggles to remember this promise. Even though God has provide abundantly more than I’ve asked, and he has done nothing to dismantle my trust, I still question his ability and desire to give good gifts.
Can you relate?
I’m thankful for Jesus’ lesson at the Sermon on the Mount. He knew we needed to unlearn our ways to relearn God’s ways. And there are two tips I recommend to reinforcing God’s ways:
(1) Read his Word to recall his promises.
(2) Pray big prayers to watch him work.
I challenge all of us to do both today. Read his Word—fill your mind with the wonderful truths of the Word. Also Pray big prayers—asking God to work in ways only He can fulfill!
Prayer Prompt: God, thank you for always taking care of me–in some ways I’ve noticed and in many more unseen ways. I ask that you would [whatever it is] because only you can make this happen! Thank you for hearing my prayer today!
“Prayer is the key that unlocks all the storehouses of God’s infinite grace. -R.A. Torrey
