Disrupt - Day 25
March 25 - She sweeps the house and seeks diligently until she finds it (Luke 15:10)
What is the cost to bring others into the kingdom?
There’s the cost of Jesus’ sacrifice. That’s the big one that we remember on Good Friday (don’t forget - 630pm!)
But there’s also the cost to us as followers. Notice the woman who diligently searched for her lost coin. It cost her resources in lighting her light, time and energy in sweeping the house, and patience and diligence in carefully searching.
She did this without hesitation because of the value of that which was lost.
Likewise, we pay a price to reach the lost. In addition to resources, time, energy, patience, and diligence, we must give ourselves to prayer and fasting.
As I’ve said, prayer is the groundwork for evangelism. Therefore, we must persist in prayer.
There is a price to reach those who are lost. Are they worth it to you?
They were worth it to Jesus who left the heavenly throne to live on earth and die for all of mankind even while we were sinners. Let’s follow Jesus’ example to sacrificially do whatever it takes to bring the lost coins into the family of God.
Prayer Prompt: Heavenly Father, I pray for my friends [name them], and I ask that you draw them to salvation. Please have mercy to open their hearts to respond to your grace with belief. Thank you for the wonderful gift of salvation through your Son Jesus Christ.
“Much prayer is the price of unction.” -E.M. Bounds
