Disrupt - Day 24
March 24 - Take Courage. Wait on the Lord. (Psalm 27:14)
Prayer requires patience.
And that’s difficult.
Everything in our lives ambushes our attempts at holy patience - microwavable food, commercials about internet speeds, staring at the little dots on a message reply. If we’re not careful, we treat God like Jack Bauer who often screamed “Chloe, I need it now!”
But prayer is different. If we can trust God to hear our prayers, then we need to trust him with his timing in answering our prayers.
What does God challenge us to do while we wait? Take courage! This charge from God is in contrast to growing weary or becoming discouraged. Instead he wants us to remember his character…he has not forgotten! He has ears that hear! But he also has good and perfect plans. Reject the enemy’s lies; take those thoughts captive, and remember your loving Father! So if you’ve prayed, and if you’re waiting, take courage and trust God. He’s working in numerous ways behind the scenes to align every detail to glorify his name.
“Waiting for God is not laziness; it is obedience.” -G. Campbell Morgan
