Disrupt - Day 21
March 21 This widow keeps bothering me. (Luke 18:5)
Generally, speaking nagging is frowned upon in Scripture, but there is one celebrated type of nagging – when we “nag” God in prayer for the great burdens we carry.
In Luke 18 Jesus taught a parable of a persistent widow who pleaded with a judge to act. The judge kept refusing, but the widow kept bugging him. Finally, the judge acted. Jesus used that parable to teach If persistence can move an unjust judge, how much more will it move a loving Father? Let us plead with God with honest and vulnerable desperation in our voice. “Please Lord!” is our cry.
How many times are you willing to pray for something?
What if you are one more prayer away from God answering?
I don’t pretend to know the mind of God, and why some prayers seem answered before my words even leave my tongue and other prayers I have begged for decades. However, I trust God‘s ways more than mine so I will be committed to the. Ways of Jesus and the commands of Jesus.
Prayer Prompt: Lord, I have this burden that I must bring to you again. I ask that you would hear my plea another time. Please work in this way.
