Disrupt - Day 2
March 2 - Abide in Me and I in you. (John 15:4)
The praying life is an abiding life. Yesterday I preached on the importance of abiding in Christ. Abiding is the first step in becoming a prayer warrior, for it’s out of the abundance of your relationship with Christ that you can pray with accuracy and power.
“I want power, but accuracy?” you say! “Don’t we just pray for a bunch of needs and see what sticks?!”
Not at all, friend.
As I mentioned yesterday, God loves it when we pray, and we should feel comfortable praying about anything--from great importance to lesser. However, prayer is not a random volley of requests. Instead, we pray in accordance to the promptings of God, which requires walking closely to Him. Prayer is our overflow of abiding in God’s presence, love, and truth. Will you commit yourself to live today as closely aligned with God as you can be?
Prayer Prompt: God, today I choose to walk in line with you. Where you go, so will I. And please shape my prayer life in accordance to your good and pleasing will.
“Prayer is as natural an expression of faith as breathing is of life.” -Jonathan Edwards
