Disrupt - Day 19

March 19 - Shut the door and pray. (Matthew 6:6)

Daily unseen commitment yields extraordinary visible results.

The prideful man flaunts his devotion, looking for the admiration from his fellow man. He posts selfies of sacrificial obedience, yearning for the praise of fellow peasants, not the King. However, the godly man cherishes the quiet prayer closet; going to battle in the spiritual realm with the fiercest weapon of war — Prayer. He yearns for the purer affection — God himself, not man’s fickle applause. The world craves the spotlight, but a healthy prayer life rejects the glory.

Pray Prompt: Lord, in the solitude of my room I pray that you strengthen my arms, equip my mind, and guard my heart’s affections for the priorities that matter to you.

“The Christian who does not pray is no Christian at all.” -Dietrich Bonhoeffer
