Disrupt - Day 15

March 15 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Philippians 4:6)

We all get worried; that’s why Jesus addressed it (Matthew 6:25-34). Where do you turn when you get worried?...To other things or to God?

Paul reminded the Phippian Church to pray about every anxious matter. This reveals a very special trait about God--he takes pleasure in our prayers about personal needs. How easy it is to believe the Great Deceiver’s lie that our concerns annoy God, but he wants us to pray to him! Like a good father cheerful to hear his children asking for help, so our Heavenly Father is ready to bring peace, truth, calm, perspective, and hope in our distress.

Prayer Prompt: Father, today I am anxious about ____. You see this very scenario, but you are not distressed or nervous. Please help me to see this situation from your perspective so that I can worship you as we walk through it together.

“Prayer keeps us in continual dependence upon God.” -Matthew Henry
