Disrupt - Day 16

March 16 - Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (Colossians 4:2)

Paul encouraged his readers in Colosse to be devoted in prayer. If you listen closely, you can feel the urgency in the verse. Persecution against Christians was common; Paul himself was writing from house arrest. So he pleaded with them to give their time, attention, and best energy to….prayer. Does that surprise us? Devoted to prayer. In our day, that’s an uncommon exhortation. Further, if you read the next few verses, you’ll see that Paul requests they pray for his evangelistic boldness and clarity. Even the Apostle Paul knew his flesh was prone to fumbling through words at times. Let us commit ourselves to prayer; after all, robust evangelism begins with fervent prayer.

Prayer Prompt: Lord, like Paul I pray that I would have boldness and clarity in proclaiming that everyone is a sinner in need of the Savior who died for our sin and rose from the tomb. Please empower me to share this message today.
