Disrupt - Day 11

March 11 - Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. (Luke 6:12)

If there was anyone who did not need to pray, I suppose it would be Jesus. He is perfect. He is all-powerful. He did miracles. Yet He prayed…a lot. Why? Because he treasured his relationship with his Father. Jesus didn’t pray because he needed stuff, he prayed because he wanted to spend time with his Father. More than what food, coffee, sleep, or friendship offered, Jesus was rejuvenated in the presence of his Father!

If Jesus prayed all night, shouldn’t we devote ourselves to prayer? If Jesus‘s schedule was defined by prayer, should not ours be also?

When it comes to prayer, we often want the fruit without the labor; we want God’s power without lingering in His presence. Today, commit yourself to seek rejuvenation in the presence of God more than anything else!

Prayer Prompt: Father, forgive me for treating prayer so casually. Please help me to see prayer the way Jesus did.

“Prayer is the channel of power.” -A.B. Simpson
