Disrupt - Day 10
March 10 - Ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. (John 14:14)
We pray in Jesus' name because it is by his name the heavens shake! At the name of Jesus every knee will bow. At the name of Jesus the enemy shudders. Saying his name isn’t a magical incantation, but it is a declaration that Jesus Christ is victorious over death, and all things (including death) yield to his command. Praying in Jesus’ name is an acknowledgement that we have confidence before the throne of God because Jesus has placed his robe of righteousness upon all believers. By Jesus’ atonement we can have access to God; therefore we pray in Jesus’ name, by Jesus’ redemption, and for Jesus’ glory!
Prayer Prompt: Heavenly Father, I pray in Jesus’ name because I acknowledge His work on the cross purchasd my redemption and ability to approach you. Every knee will bow before Him and every tongue will confess that He is Lord. It is only by Jesus that I pray these things.
“Prayer is the key that opens the heart of God.” -Corrie ten Boom
